Chapter 11 - WEATHER AND CLIMATE

OUR NEXT CHAPTER WILL BE

In addition to reviewing chapters the student are quizzed on each chapter.

THE EIGHTH GRADE FINAL WILL BE THE INFORMATION FROM THE NYSTATE REVIEW BOOK.

All students have been asked to keep ALL quizzes in a science folder for study purposes for their final.

Students are currently working on NYSTATE - Ch. 11

We will continue working with this Chapter throughout the week.

This year 8th grade will be focusing on both PHYSICAL SCIENCE , as well as, reviewing for the NEW YORK STATE INTERMEDIATE SCIENCE EXAM (in June 2019).

IN ADDITION , THE SCIENCE FAIR IS A SIGNIFICANT PART OF THE STUDENTS' GRADE.
(SECOND TRIMESTER)

Congratulations to our Science Fair Finalists:

Dylan Petricone
Arianna Rogers

...AND THE WINNER IS DYLAN PETRICONE

ALL FINALISTS IN GRADES 6 THROUGH WERE INVITED TO TAKE THE NATIONAL SCIENCE BEE

AND ALL FINALISTS ADVANCED TO THE REGIONAL FINALS

THIS YEAR WE WILL BE EXPLORING MANY EXCITING FORMS OF PHYSICAL SCIENCE INCLUDING:
MATTER
SOLIDS, LIQUIDS, AND GASES
ELEMENTS AND THE PERIODIC TABLE
ATOMS AND BONDING
ACIDS, BASES, AND SOLUTIONS
ENERGY
LAWS OF PHYSICS
WEIGHT VS. GRAVITY

In addition, we will be working on the New York State Review Book.  .

There will block assignments and tests on Chapters to be announced along with vocabulary tests. Quizlet tests have been created to help the students.

We have connected to Quizlet which practices vocabulary via quizzes and games.

There will be a weekly NYSTATE TEST ON VOCABULARY on assigned chapters.

STUDENTS ARE INVITED TO WORK ON ALL CHAPTERS OF THEIR NEW YORK STATE BOOKS INDEPENDENTLY.

STUDENTS CAN PRACTICE THE PAST NYSTATE 8th GRADE INTERMEDIATE SCIENCE TESTS
BY GOOGLING THESE TESTS (ANSWERS ARE GIVEN).
