We are coming to the end of the year!

The Sixth Grade Science Fair Projects are due June 1, 2018 
Presentations will begin on Monday June 4th throughout the week.

Our Science Final is                                     .
The chapters to be included on the test will be Chapters 13 - 16. A study guide sheet was given out. All vocabulary , Workbook pages and essay should be studied.

ESSAYS FOR FINAL EXAM:

1.  Identify a compound (not complex machine) that you use in your life. Inentify at least TWO simple machines that are in this compound machine.

2.  Explain "WORK" as it relates to the science meaning. How do you measure how much work is being done?

3.  Name FOUR types of SIMPLE MACHINES and explain how each one makes work easier. Give an example of each machine.

4.  Explain Newton's THREE Laws of Motion and give an example of each.

In addition to our text and workbook lessons, each lesson has a Quizlet packet to enhance vocabulary. 

  Student's grades will be listed on Powerschool.

We have been growing flowers in the lab and it has been exciting to see roots, stems and leaves growing. The plants have been put into soil and are beautifully!

OUR NEXT TOPIC IS CHAPTER 14 - Atoms, Compounds, and the Periodic Table. 

STUDENTS WILL BE RECEIVING THEIR TESTS ON  CH. 13 - Matter,  THEY RECEIVED STUDY GUIDES TO AID THEM IN NOTE-TAKING IN ADDITION TO THEIR WORKBOOK PAGES WHICH WE REVIEWED.

IT'S NOT TO EARLY TO RESEARCH A TOPIC!!

***Students have the benefit of using the Study Guide Workbook In addition
there will be Vocabulary Quizlet games and Study Chapter Reviews including all Key Terms***(at the end of each chapter)

This year the sixth grade will be scaffolding (growing) many of  last year's concepts and also have been putting a main focus on Earth science.

We will be meeting daily and homework will be given on this page. However, it is very important that students also put all assignments in their planners in order to organize the books and supplies they need to take home each day.

There will be a week's notice prior to each test and they will be listed on this page.
There should be no weekend homework other than long-range projects and studying for tests.

There will be extra help for sixth grade on Tuesday mornings beginning at 8:10 A.M.
S.T.E.M. begins next week.
